The Weather proof transmitter is approximately 4" by 4" and powered by a 9 volt battery that will normally last up to one year. It is best mounted about three feet above the ground on a building or post  up to 80 feet from the driveway or area monitored. The beam is very narrow and will detect large animals and moving vehicles. When the beam is crossed the transmitter will then send a wireless signal to the receiver plugged into a 120 volt outlet in your home , where a 3 second alarm is sounded. The transmitter also has a 12 inch telescopic antenna to transmit the signal up to 1000 feet. The receiver has an on/off switch so that you may use the alarm when you desire. Should a more pleasant chime be desired you may disable the siren and connect any electromechanical doorbell to the spring loaded clips on the receiver.
