MODEL DWA-7 Wireless Driveway Probes
The wireless driveway probe is an extremely popular alternative to the driveway alarm. In certain applications, such as drive-up windows, congested areas with high movement of people of large animals (such as deer), or where only metal vehicle detection is required, the wireless driveway probe is preferred. Neither people or animals, can be detected with this system. The driveway probe requires a small amount of additional installation time when compared to the driveway alarm, but is still incredibly easy when compared to older wired probes that required a cable to run the entire distance between the probe and receiver in the house. The probe is shallowly buried next to the driveway and works with the earth's own magnetic field. When the magnetic field is disturbed from metal passing near the probe, it sends a three-second beep to the receiver in the house. A small cable (25 feet long) hooks to the sensor's weatherproof electronics box. This box may be hidden to make this system totally stealth. No one needs to know it's there, but you! The outside box contains batteries and all the electronics. We recommend, with all their products to install them temporally before burying them or custom installing them to ensure complete compatibility and successful operation in the desired location. We can provide you with detailed instructions plus installation tips and answers to common troubleshooting problems. Many accessories are available to add to the probe units as driveway alarms offering the user unlimited expansion possibilities. The Model DWA-7 is the only Driveway Alarm on the market to use digital technology using 900MHZ with SPREAD SPECTRUM technology for the best signal transmission and reception in its class. This alarm is available in two models : A DWA-7-2000 ( 2000 ft. maximum transmission range) & a DWA-7-4000 ( 4000 ft. maximum transmission range). Both systems are available in a dual probe configuration and may be expanded to accept four probes ( each with a different sound by the use of peizo chimes). If desired, the second probe may be substituted for a relay that will turn off the system for a short time as set by the customer. This is accomplished by means of a transmitter about the size of a garage door transmitter. The cost for this system will be the same as that of the dual probe. A door bell option is available for use with the probe or may be used with out the probe. A repeater to extend the range up to four miles is also available at a cost of $599.95. This option must have an AC power outlet. All models are backed by a one year factory warranty.
